Ferry piers equipped with digital displays for the first time
The Hamburg ferry company HADAG is achieving great things: depending on passenger frequency and location, modern, one- and two-sided outdoor displays in 55, 65 and 75-inch format have been installed on the ferry piers. The displays fulfil special requirements in terms of vandalism protection, stability, low-maintenance 24/7 operation, monitoring and weather resistance. The integrated text-to-speech function, which is activated at the touch of a button, is a major step towards accessibility.

More than just arrival and departure
In terms of content design, the customer places particular emphasis on multimodal passenger information which, in addition to scheduled ferry departures, can also display public transport departures and new mobility services such as e-scooters, car sharing, taxis, etc. in list and map form. This information is combined with editorial content on the services offered by HADAG and the Hamburg Transport Association as well as tourist offers in the vicinity of the ferry terminals.

ST-MOBILITY has just the right tool for the job: Mobility Signage offers seamless integration of various data sources and operations control systems to ensure real-time information for passengers. The software enables the direct connection of data hubs and computerised operations control systems via common interfaces. In addition, over 50 interfaces to new mobility services such as car, bike and scooter sharing services are already networked with Mobility Signage.

A PoleScreen meets special requirements
The pier of the „Theater im Hafen“ was a special challenge. To avoid creating barriers on the theatre plaza when large crowds of people stream from a performance to the ferries, a PoleScreen was used here, with a monitor mounted approx. 3 metres to the side on a pole.
