BVG Diggi – the digital info-buddy
This is what Berliner Verkehrsgesellschaft is calling a major digitalization project. The aim behind it is nothing less than to provide the best possible information directly at the stops – quickly and clearly, even in the event of disruptions. The new cube is therefore packed with technology. The various displays provide dynamic information in every situation. The cubes are designed as a modular system so that displays can be arranged almost anywhere.
80 times BVG Diggi – for now
The first Diggi was put into operation at the end of April. The next of an initial 80 light columns are expected to be installed in the city from summer 2024. The initial plan is for 20 percent of them to be located at tram stops and the rest at bus stops. Changes to the arrangement and layout of the display systems are possible as the project progresses. The main aim is to provide passengers with up-to-date information tailored to their needs.
The state-of-the-art systems are supplied with data in real time
Two 43-inch monitors and one 32-inch monitor are installed in a BVG Diggi cube. The monitors can display more detailed construction information or information on upcoming timetable changes, for example. The ST-MOBILITY systems are supplied with information in real time via mobile network so that such additional information can be played directly from the control center to the monitors.
